Wilfred Tok graduated with a Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) from the University of Birmingham, UK. He spends close to a decade working in engineering and aerospace industries for Fortune 500 companies such as General Electric and United Technologies Company – Pratt & Whitney. His was integral in employing Six Sigma process to improve repair yield and significant saving for GE. In 2000, he gave up a successful career with Pratt & Whitney to pursue his interest in adventure experiential training and in areas of student development with Singapore Polytechnic. Since joining Singapore Polytechnic, he was a Singapore delegation leader for The Commonwealth Award Friendship Exchange Programme 2003 (CAFÉ), in Manchester, UK and represented Singapore Polytechnic in the National Youth Achievement Award (NYAA).
Wilfred is one of the pioneers in the Mountaineering scene in Singapore, with more than 16 years of experience in leading and pushing mountaineering standard. He is currently serving in the management committee of the Singapore Mountaineering Federation (SMF). He represented the federation at the Union of Asian Alpine Association (UAAA) General Assembly 2004 in Tehran, Iran.
Wilfred's is someone who knows about Leadership, Team and Motivation Development, he is someone who “Walk his Talk”. As the Deputy Leader of the Singapore-Latin American Mount Everest Expedition 2001, which attempted the more complex and difficult North Ridge route from Tibet. As a leading member of the Mountaineering Society of Singapore (MOSS), he has organized many expeditions team to remote places such as Cerro Aconcagua (6962m) - Argentina, Khan Tengri (7010m)- Kazakhstan, Chandra Bhaga (5800m), Himachal Pradesh - Northern India and the Southern Alps in the Mount Cook region of New Zealand. He pushes mountaineering standard to a level never achieved by any Singaporean.
He is a certified licensed practitioner for the Team Management System (TMS), which offers a complete approach to any team and leadership development needs widely used by leading organizations worldwide.
He work with management teams and executives in their leadership quality by exploring the extent to which individual focuses on opportunities or obstacles. With his accreditation in Dr McCann’s “Window on Work Values”, he is enthusiastic and thorough in exploring the relationships between individual work values and corporate values, and how to capitalise and leverage on employees workplace behaviours/preferences.
He is also a certified Motivational coach. He work with lower management and frontline employees to increases their productivity and efficiency by tapping into their personal motivational values. His certification in Challenge Rope Course Safety & Management by Vertical Innovation – Australia, enabled him to facilitate Experiential Training at any challenge ropes course site.
